You’re Lacking Professional Client Interactions

Outgrowing Your Home Office

…part 2 of a 5-part series

You’ve had several years to become proficient at dodging your inability to engage in normal face-to-face meetings with your clients. As a matter of fact, you now have it down to a science.

Biscuits handy for the dog: Barking during a client call isn’t exactly professional… but the biscuits work like a charm.

Visitor interruptions:  No worries… ever since you disabled the doorbell, and ship all deliveries to the folks across town it’s all peace and quiet. But the kids… you have wondered if they will be permanently scarred from your 8 to 5 off-limits mandate.

Client meeting locations: Meeting at the house was never an option… as you’ve aced the reasons to meetup at the local coffee shop. But you are a bit concerned that you may be overusing the faulty mute excuse on ZOOM.

Home offices, even if they’re fortunate enough to have a separate entrance will never have the same presence as a professional office setting. In the best of times, we can creatively make it work, but at some point the efforts to make it work slowly chip away at the professional image your clients expect.

To improve your business image, consider the move to a shared office space. Most will have the option for an executive office available month-to-month, fully equipped conference rooms, or even an office branded with your logo that gives you a branch office without the overhead.

And across the board, you’ll have access to all the amenities, like secure internet, business support services, document printing, state-of-the-art meeting rooms… all with 24/7 access.

Maybe it’s time to consider a move from your home office to a shared office environment. Look for a shared office facility that gives you several options and give it a try. Maybe it’s time to move your business conversations out of the kitchen and into a professional environment.
